Fading Point by Joji Locatelli (Digital Pattern)

$7.00 USD

This pattern is a digital pattern that will be emailed to you from Ravelry. Please leave your Ravelry name in the “instructions to seller” portion of your shopping cart before proceeding to check out. 😊

Fading Point is constructed from both ends towards the centre, and then both pieces are connected with triangles to achieve a seamless rectangle.
The pattern is completely different than its predecesor: It has sections where you blend 2 colors together and then sections with lace. The instructions are WRITTEN AND CHARTED.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
26½“ (66 cm) wide and 88” (220 cm) long.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 5 skeins of fingering weight yarn in 5 different colors. I used La Bien Aimée Twist Sock (80% Merino / 20% Nylon; 467/425m; 100g) in a Fade or Gradient combination. You need approx. 400yd/365m each of all 5 colors. I used the La Belle Époque Fade.
I recommend that the darkest is color 1 and the lightest is color 5.
Needles: 2 sets of US 5 (3.75 mm) circular or straight needle. If you are using circulars, 24”-32” are good lengths, but choose any length you are comfortable with.
Other notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, waste yarn or an extra cable, tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires.

GAUGE
Your working gauge should be 22 sts and 44 rows. BUT your finished (pinned, stretched and blocked out) gauge should be 20 sts and 40 rows. Both gauges are given to 4” (10 cm) on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles in Garter st.

CHOOSING COLORS
You need 5 skeins of yarn in different colors for this wrap.
Any color combination will work; however this design works especially well if you use a progression of colors (gradient or fade). I started my wrap using the darkest color of the set, so that is called color 1. However, you can try your own version starting with the lightest or using completely different contrasting colors!
