Crank and Take Tube-to-Sock Session

Workshop Description:

Reserve time on one of the Tru-Knit Circular Sock Knitting Machines to crank out a tube from a full skein of yarn (you'll be shocked at how fast you can do this!), then turn that tube into a pair of socks!

Your hour-long session will be one-on-one with one of our CSM experts who will show you how to set up the machine then knit a continuous tube.

The session fee includes your choice of yarn from a select option of colors and pattern instructions on how to turn that tube of knitting into a pair of socks at home!

Previous hand knitting experience is required. 

 

Date of Event: Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 2025 

We have sessions: 10-11, 11-12, 12-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4

Maximum Number of Participants: 2 each time slot

 

Materials Provided:

The use of a circular sock machine

Yarn - will be chosen on day of event

Afterthought heel & toe pattern

20 locking stitch markers + 2 unique locking stitch markers

Materials Needed:

40” US size 1 and 40” US size 2 circular needles (could have sets set up as an add-on online and available in-store)

Instructor Bio:

Jamie Mayfield and Sue Vunesky have been coming to Socktober at StevenBe since 2017.

Jamie and her and her husband, Jeff, are behind the groundbreaking design and manufacturing of the Tru-Knit circular knitting machine, which was unveiled live from StevenBe in 2022.

Jamie and Sue are passionate teachers, knitters, yarn dyers, sewers, and so many other things but are especially dedicated to sharing their expertise and introducing others to the art of sock making and the world of CSMs.
