Purls Just Want to Have Fun!
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the unsung heroes of our craft—the purl stitches! ✨ They may sometimes get a bad rap, but where would we be without them? Sure, they might require a little extra attention and focus, but that’s what makes them so special. Oh, how they bring balance and texture to our knitting projects! They also play a crucial role in creating intricate patterns and stunning designs. Without them, our projects would lack that lovely contrast and dimension that we adore.
So, fellow knitters, let’s give a shout-out to purl stitches! They may have a reputation for being a bit fussy, but they are the foundation of our knitting projects and deserve our appreciation. Let’s embrace their charm, enjoy the process of working them, and let our creations shine!
Yarn:
Needles: US 6/4mm & 8/5mm needles
Notions: Stitch Marker (optional), T-pins and blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 26 sts = 4 inches in Purl Twist stitch after aggressive blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished Size: 36” ruffle bind-off edge x 75” neckline after aggressive blocking, in a boomerang shape.
