This Scarf explores texture, color and direction and has taken inspiration from Entrelac knitting but with a fresh spin! The modular construction and changing colours and textures keep the knitting interesting all the way through.

Yarn
4 ply / fingering weight wool yarn in three colours.
Sample is knit with Pirate Purl Yarns Blackbeard (70% Polwarth wool, 30% Silk, 400m / 437yds – 100g)
• Main colour (MC): 2 skeins or 600 yds.
• Contrast colour 1 (CC1, wide stripes): 1 skein or 218 yds.
• Contrast colour 2 (CC2, narrow stripes): 1 skein or 218 yds.
• Some extra yarn for tassels (optional).
Needles
3.5mm / US4
32” and 60” circular needles.
Notions
Stitch markers, stitch holders or spare yarn, tapestry needle.
For tassels: Cardstock, scissors.
Gauge
20 sts and 32 rows = 10cm / 4” with 3.5mm / US4 needle in stripe pattern, measured from blocked and relaxed fabric.
Design notes
This scarf is worked flat and has an interesting modular construction. It consists of 4 triangle shaped sections (Triangles 1–4) that are worked in a modular fashion.
As the final step, the scarf is finished with a narrow reverse stockinette stitch edging that is worked in the round with sts picked up along the perimeter.
