- Bundle includes 4 skeins of fingering weight yarn in your chosen bas and colors
A fun homage to the intergenerational Hulu show Only Murders in the Building with Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
How Does This Work?
- It’s a knitting pattern for a generous shawl/wrap/scarf-thingy.
- Those purchasing the pattern during the pre-sale period (see below) will receive a planning sheet with gauge and materials info.
- There will be 6 clues for the mkal. Clue 1 drops on Friday, Feb 21st, 2025 (first thing in the am EDT), with clues 2-6 releasing on each of the following Fridays (Feb, 28, March 7, March 14, March 21, and March 28th).
- As each clue is published, you will receive an update with that Clue (via Ravelry download).
What Am I Getting Myself Into?
- The pattern is written for 4 full (400 yard) skeins of fingering weight yarn in 4 different colors
- There is colorwork, but no brioche or stranded colorwork at all.
- The pattern is accessible for beginners and experienced knitters alike. There will be some lace, slipped stitches, simple cables or twisted stitches, dips, and other unusual stitches, but I’ll provide video tutorials to help you along with anything out of the ordinary.
- All stitch patterns will be written out in line-by-line style, and several of the patterns (if they’re not a 2-stitch repeat, for example) will also be charted. Any charts will have line-by-line directions accompanying them.
- There will be short rows within garter stitch. For those with little experience with short rows, I’ve got you! Short rows in garter stitch are way easier than in stockinette stitch, and I’ve got you covered with video tutorials of 2 different ways to do them. The pattern is also written in such a way that experienced knitters can work either german or wrap+turn (or whatever other technique they prefer)--you won’t have to re-write any of those instructions.
- The shawl will be rectangular and will be a bit of a Festival of Stitches sort of thing. Some stitch patterns will be repeated, some won’t. If you’ve knit my mkals before, this is very much on brand for me--you know I like cool constructions and miter mysteries:)
- There will be several show references in the pattern, but you won’t need to get the jokes in order to work the actual shawl instructions.
