10a – 1p: Traveling Stitches

Pre-requisites: Knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, chart reading

Description: Learn how to add curves and angles to your knitting by using traveling stitches. We will go over the different methods for making stitches travel, effects on the fabric, and how to incorporate traveling stitches into a basic knitting pattern.

Materials required: Worsted weight yarn, size 7 needles, cable needle.

Homework: Consider where your stitches will take you. Review Cookie’s Book

2p – 5p: Oddball Stitches

Experience: Knit, purl, slip knitwise, slip purlwise, knit into the back loop, purl into the back loop, yarnover, pass slipped stitch over.

Description: There's a world of knitting stitches out there beyond your usual knit, purl, cables, decreases, and yarnovers. In this class we'll cover all sorts of oddball stitches that add texture and fun. Learn about wrapped / clustered stitches, an easier way to do a quadruple decrease, nupps, bobbles, and slipped stitchery.

Materials required: Worsted weight yarn, size 7 needles, cable needle.

Homework: Spend some time reviewing listed stitches and you’ll be set to go.
