Description: Small details can make the difference between a nice knitted project and an amazing knitted project. Learn about finding the perfect ribbing, how to shape in lace, and how to deal with that pesky gauge change when working with cables. Deal with Cable Suckage. Supplies: Worsted weight yarn, size 7 dpn or circular needles, tapestry needle. Homework: Consider where your stitches will take you. Knit, purl, increases, decreases. Description: Learn how to create your own stitch patterns. We will study what makes other stitch patterns unique. We'll go over knit/purl shapes, different ways to make diagonal lines, eyelets, cables, and curves as well as how different stitches effect the knitted fabric. Students will practice working published stitch patterns from a chart to get a feel for how to create their shapes. Supplies: Worsted weight yarn, size 7 needles, graph paper.
